With work that spans NGOs, startups, and world-class clients like McDonald’s, Audi, and British Airways, Guile has helped conceptualize and create animations in a wide variety of styles. He has translated concepts across a variety of mediums, including traditional advertising, animation, and VR.
As one of the founding team members of CryptoKitties and our Head of Art, Guile is responsible for the art behind the feline collectibles. He created a modular system to procedurally generate blockchain art, with artwork visualizing each CryptoKitties' unique genes that can be mixed and matched, resulting in billions of unique visual combinations. Guile's "exclusive" CryptoKitties, featuring completely custom art, have commanded over US$100,000 at auction.
Before CryptoKitties, Guile worked at Tendril, a design and animation studio in Toronto. He would go on to apply his visuals to ZenHub, a project management tool used by Fortune 100 companies, including Facebook, Microsoft, NBC, and others. The UI, brand, and visuals he created for Toby, a tab management extension, resulted in a "Best of 2016" award from Google, Product Hunt's Golden Kitty award, and users from Facebook, Google, and IBM.
Guile believes that blockchain can bring numerous improvements to people, but he's especially interested in its impact on the art and entertainment industry. One of Guile's specially-created CryptoKitties was recently featured at Christie's Auction House in New York, selling for $140,000, with the proceeds going to support artists on the blockchain.
