- Backend / Systems development
Oleg doesn’t believe a comfort zone is a positive thing, and as a software engineer with a passion for experimentation, he constantly pushes ZenHub out of theirs.
At Simon Fraser University, Oleg started working towards a degree in Computer Science. He took a detour partway through, dropping out to start his own company. Dineserve was a successful Android/iPhone app, but Oleg decided there was more to learn, and went back to finish his degree.
Oleg has worked at BlackBerry programming diagnostics and debugging software for BB10, and at Tesla Motors on the Body Controls team for the Model X. As a firmware engineering intern, Oleg did everything from writing BLE firmware and RSSI mapping to build system infrastructure and team tooling.
His position at ZenHub is a perfect fit for a programmer who always wants to try new things. Whether that’s pushing his physical abilities or experimenting with new system architectures, Oleg is on a path to adventure. He made the backend portion of ZenHub’s Release Reports and Dependencies and helped ZenHub triple in size. He hasn’t yet found a way to incorporate his voracious reading of blockchain whitepapers into ZenHub, but the stable backend ecosystem that started out as a side project is now part of the software, so don’t count anything out.
