Senior UX Researcher

We're looking for a Senior UX researcher to champion impactful research at Dapper Labs. This role requires an individual with deep experience in qualitative and quantitative research practices. As well as someone who is comfortable establishing research plans within tight time constraints. This individual knows where to double down for the best insights, and where to streamline processes to deliver impactful results to teams moving at pace. 

In our mission to bring one billion people to the blockchain, we have a range of initiatives across the decentralized stack. Our Senior UX Researcher needs to be comfortable working across enterprise-grade distributed systems and consumer-facing toy apps - and everything in between. With a deep respect for the value, focus brings to research work, it’s important to acknowledge the context switching that is inherent in a UX research role that works across our suite of projects.

Formed in February 2018, Dapper Labs was spun out of Axiom Zen to spread the benefits of decentralization through the power of play, fairness, and true ownership. The Role:
  • Work closely with the team (product, game design, UX, UI, Art) to create research goals and understand areas of assumption, or concern. 
  • Take the lead to create and execute research plans designed to deliver insights based on established goals.
  • Champion research findings and document them in a timely, easily digestible format that can be shared with core stakeholders, as well as the wider team. (extremely important for this role) 
  • Advocate for our users and support the company to make decisions based on user feedback and data. 
  • Drive the business forward by establishing research methods that are informative, adaptable and timely.
  • Research at Dapper needs to be flexible to support the product at the pace the product is developing.
A little about you:
  • You are a confident researcher with deep experience in qualitative and quantitative, attitudinal and behavioural research methods.
  • You have broad experience with the full range of research methods relating to product development. 
  • You enjoy both planning and conducting research, rolling up your sleeves to write surveys, conduct user interviews and putting together insights. 
  • You have experience creating personas, and have tools and tips on how to make these effective resources. 
  • You have a strong understanding of the latest research techniques and tools and understand how to analyze and interpret trends in qualitative and quantitative data sets.
  • Your research helps facilitate design decisions with deliverables such as competitive comparative analysis, heuristic evaluation, user stories and scenarios and domain research such as design pattern analysis. 
  • All of your research is synthesized into digestible documentation to deliver to product owners and teams.
  • You are organized, communicative and can balance business objectives and user goals to provide actionable suggestions to improve the user experience.
Bonus points for the following:
  • You’ve conducted user research for games and can leverage this knowledge to inform audience behaviour, preferences and strategies for performant design. 
  • You have a passion for blockchain and other new technologies.
  • Understanding of front-end, back-end or blockchain technologies.
  • Passion for understanding the latest learnings and innovations in behavioural science, research methods, and UX design and applying these to your work.
