To continue to deliver on this mission, we are looking to add to our team with a highly motivated and ambitious People leader to support our dedicated group of engineers, creatives, and entrepreneurs. 

We expect that you will have developed a solid foundation of experience in the HR function at a leading organization, known for successfully integrating its culture into the organizational ethos. At some point (if not from the outset), you made the jump to an entrepreneurial venture, with experience managing the direct day-to-day responsibilities, growing over time to include managing a small but highly effective team, overseeing programs, and supporting senior partners to drive tangible value creation.

We’re looking for someone that has successfully navigated exponential organizational growth, who understands the unique nuances across multiple stakeholders and can determine how best to serve them, who is internally motivated to continuously assess approaches to best practices to drive commercial outcomes - we are building an extraordinary organization, and while we investigate every avenue to leverage others’ insights and learnings, we know that ordinary approaches will result in ordinary outcomes.
What we’ll accomplish together:
  • Bolster a resourceful team to build best in class HR operations, driving iterations and improvements to increase efficiency, and deliver high quality levels of service
  • Oversee (and roll up sleeves to build and execute) programs and resources that strengthen culture, deepen engagement, and optimize talent - e.g., team health/engagement surveys and related initiatives, learning & development workshops
  • Seamless execution on payroll administration and supporting compensation workstreams, including competitive benchmarking and annual adjustments
  • Continuous review of benefits programs, including healthcare, immigration, and additional perquisites
  • Uphold the highest compliance and regulatory standards with respect to employment related legal matters, contract management, and related areas

  • You understand the “big picture”, with the ability to dive down into the details - holding high standards for work quality and a laser focus on driving results
  • Creativity and a flexible growth mindset are your calling card - we will have to be resourceful in supporting a wide range of organizational efforts
  • You like to roll up your sleeves, dig in, and act as a true thought partner to business leaders
  • Differentiated communication abilities allow you to develop a deep understanding of the business needs and work seamlessly across multiple stakeholders to develop, implement, and maximize our team
  • You have a demonstrated ability to think quickly on your feet and context switch, as well as an ability to prioritize effectively across multiple initiatives
  • Deep familiarity with Canadian and BC labour laws
