Community Lead / Director of Community - NBA Top Shot

Are you an experienced community builder who knows how to get the digital party started and make people feel like they’re part of an inclusive club? Help us bring NBA Top Shot, the first officially-licensed digital collectibles on the Flow blockchain, to market by growing and scaling the community of fans and players who will become our greatest advocates. 

We are looking for someone who can take the lead in shaping our NBA Top Shot community across every platform – and helping crypto cross the chasm to the more than 1.6 billion basketball fans worldwide. 

As the Community Lead, you will be the tip of the spear in building and fostering the NBA Top Shot community across web, mobile, Discord, Twitter, TikTok, and more. You’ll be responsible for everything from community strategy, to active participation with the community, to optimizing our overall strategy by platform. This is a huge opportunity to build a social media and community program from the ground up. You must enjoy problem solving, getting your hands dirty, having a major impact directly on product adoption, and collaborating across many stakeholders. Every day, you’ll collaborate with a world-class team to defy the limits of what audiences can expect from digital assets.

What You’ll Accomplish Here:
  • Introduce efficient community strategy with built-in optimization looks
  • Keep the NBA Top Shot community engaged around the excitement of building their collection
  • Ensure a balance between organic content and revenue generation 
  • Collaborate with designers to execute NBA caliber assets
  • Meet the community where they are across social platforms and Discord
  • Communicate constantly with the LiveOps team on consumer needs and feedback
  • Produce best-in-class content
Our Ideal Candidate:
  • An expert with deep experience in hands-on community building
  • A basketball fan who can live and breathe the sport
  • A professional with a proven track record of building vibrant communities
  • Experience at a strategic level, who can plan and execute
  • Effective at communicating across stakeholders including: artists, engineers, marketers
  • At least 5+ years experience managing community for a large brand or game studio
  • Experience in hype communities (think sneaker drops)
  • Strong brand voice skills, ability to become the brand
  • Deep knowledge and fandom of the NBA, ability to hold their own in a conversation with the biggest fans on the planet
  • Strong empathy to understand the fan experience and advocate on their behalf
  • Strong writing skills, ability to be concise
  • Ability to quickly analyze data and make decisions based on it
