About you:
As Head of Talent for a 150-person group of companies growing fast but needing to main an extremely high bar, you will be expected to hit the ground running quickly, working with our existing Talent and People/Culture teams to make iterative improvements while setting the stage for accelerated growth in 2019 and beyond.

Titles are not important to us at Axiom Zen, but to be clear we are looking for a leader with prior executive experience building and growing a top-tier talent team, ideally Sr Director or VP-level at a high-growth startup known for rigorous standards in hiring and an extremely strong team culture.

The majority of our team is currently located together in Vancouver, Canada, but we are recruiting aggressively internationally and have already hired leaders in LA and New York, among others. As part of this role, we need your help solidifying our international expansion strategy and accelerating growth in the US in particular.

The perfect candidate will bring their own invaluable blend of skills, experience and the flexibility to address a diverse set of challenges, but we’re also looking for a healthy mix of expertise in the following areas.
Broadly, we need your help to:
  • Amplify our company's brands (Dapper Labs - CryptoKitties, Axiom Zen - ZenHub) creatively and strategically to help position us as the destination of choice for top talent who want to work in a very dynamic environment and on the latest and greatest in emerging technologies.
  • Work with our Talent, People & Culture and Ops teams to ensure strategic and tactical plans are directly aligned with our top level goals.
  • Coordinate with our CFO and cross disciplinary leaders to build forecasting plans.
  • Lead executive-level searches.
  • Optimize existing recruitment programs, processes, tools and approaches in a continuously changing environment through constant experimentation, iteration, and systems thinking.
  • Assess, manage, and scale up our end-to-end recruitment process to provide a best-in-class candidate experience.
  • Foster an environment of collaboration, continuous learning, and relentless quality to help us achieve our BHAGs.
  • Champion building talent pipelines across global communities.
  • Lead by example and build, nurture and develop relationships where you are the advisor and expert in a high performance culture. This inherently means you recognize the value of company culture and that it's at the forefront of all people-related items.
  • Address and fill critical talent needs with creative and relentless optimism.
  • Lead and build bridges between internal and external people and talent teams to ensure they are working in sync, and to help build a team that can serve a global network of companies.
Your Background:
  • Proven experience building and growing high performance talent teams at top-tier startups.
  • Demonstrated excellence creating the systems and processes for setting strategy, planning and ongoing execution in a talent / recruiting context.
  • Strong collaborator at the leadership level while also being comfortable doing the day to day blocking and tackling work required to scale the organization.
  • Bonus for scaling through acquisitions or acquihires.
  • HR background is a plus, but not required.
